Literature and history are closely linked. Autobiographical writings are a good example of this connection, as life narratives integrate historical facts into the author's work. This study explores how Veronica Porumbacu, a Jewish writer and member of the Romanian Communist Party, attempted to convey specific experiences from the Second World War in her work. As a young Jewish woman, Veronica Porumbacu suffered from racial discrimination before and during the war. The article analyzes how some key identity markers permeated in Veronica Porumbacu's work in the context of the ideological reshaping of communist culture. This study is based on information provided by her institutional autobiographies.
